Bright as the Mind. Warm as the Sun. The logical yet emotional Yellow is one of our great primary colors. The color yellow is known to be one of the greatest colors to affect our psychological and logical thinking, increasing mental activity, encouraging communication, and increasing muscle energy. And when it’s not playing with our mind gatewaying for a boost in confidence, enthusiasm, and inspiration. Time to get mellow for yellow. Heh.

Being titled “Your Copper-Skinned Photographer,” Gabb Tapqiue has a unique way of capturing his models in ways and styles that they may have not even imagined. Using diverse angles, an array of make-up designs, and beautiful color compositions makes all his photos come together as one.

A Close Up

This upcoming artist has a great sense of color composition and color diversity, one of my favorites, Gabb Tapique hails from Cagayan de Oro (CDO), Philippines. The title of this palette is named, “A Close Up” composed of 5 colors which include: Barley White, Sweet Corn, Tacao, Old Rose, and Jambalaya with the main highlighted color being Sweet Corn.

HEX, RGB, & CMYK Color Coding below! HEX | R-G-B | CMYK

Barley White: #ff6ce | 255, 246, 206 | 0, 4, 19, 0
Sweet Corn: #fbe486 | 251, 228, 134 | 0, 9, 47, 2
Tacao: #eba084 | 235, 160, 132 | 0, 32, 44, 8
Old Rose: #c07b7d | 192, 123, 125 | 0, 36, 35, 25
Jambalaya: #573212 | 87, 50, 18 | 0, 43, 79, 66

I know we all love a good makeup composition and I’m telling you this Tacao (#eba084) pink is delivering, carrying the initial look of the palette with compassion and harmony. Harmonizing with other colors such as a light yellow such as the Barley White (#fff6ce) grabs the attention of its audience creating a good combination with its gradient to a Sweet Corn (#fbe486). One thing we must remember about bright yellows is that they’re great attention grabbers and that allows us to focus on other important colors such as an Old Rose (#c07b7d) to neutralize the other colors by bringing down that brightness. Ending off this palette on a natural note we have our Jambalaya (#573212) brown which holds everything together by being the organic component that completes this piece, such a close-up beauty of composition from Tapique.
